The Belle Epoque in Europe
Germany
Hessen: Frankfurt
Although Frankfurt is only about 30 km away from Darmstadt, one of the German Art Nouveau centres, influence and dissemination of this style were unfortunately rather insignificant. Even if until 1944 there was a great number of houses and villas built during the time of the German empire's foundation after 1871 (some few examples have survived the war and the post-war destructions), Art Nouveau architecture was and is hardly to be found. Nonetheless, I found a few pictures of the Belle Epoque interesting enough to be presented.
